Motueka Valley / Neudorf Hill
This is one of our Saturday race courses that we run in our Spring and Summer programs as well as occasionaly in our Winter program. It is also known as the 'Brass Nipple' race. The route can be viewed on Strava here: https://www.strava.com/routes/22841326
Registration is at The Moutere Inn, Upper Moutere:
This course includes a climb and descent of the Neudorf Hill. Course distance is approximately 66 km.
From the registration at The Moutere Inn, the race is neutral along the Moutere Highway until the Moutere Hills Community Centre where racing begins.
The race then continues along the Moutere Highway, Main Road Lower Moutere and Queen Victoria Street until turning left onto College Street.
Riders then continue along College Road and Motueka Valley Highway until they get to the Alexander Bluff Road Bridge where they turn right onto the bridge. There should be a marshal here and riders must obey their instructions. If there is no marshal, then normal road rules apply.
After crossing the bridge, the race turns left onto Motueka River West Bank Road and continues for approximately 18kms to the Woodstock Road Bridge. After crossing the bridge, There should be a marshal here and riders must obey their instructions. If there is no marshal, then riders must stop before turning right onto the Motueka Valley Highway.
The race then takes a left turn onto Dovedale Road and continues until turning left onto Neudorf Road. There is a steady climb to the top of the Neudorf Hill and then a steep descent back towards the Moutere. Care must be taken on the descent.
At the end of Neudorf Road, the race turns right onto the Moutere Highway and continues to the Moutere Village. There should be a marshal here and riders must obey their instructions.
The finish line is in the Moutere Village shortly after the climb into the village.
